Phuket and the Phi Phi Islands | Thailand

In October of last year, my brand new wife and I set out on an unforgettable honeymoon to a country that had been on the top of both of our lists for as long as we could remember - Thailand. Picking a honeymoon destination wasn't easy - after all, you only get one. Many places were considered - Vietnam, Cambodia, and Madagascar to name a few. But in the end it made sense for us to choose a place that had been calling both of us for sometime. We boarded a Cathay Pacific airplane just after midnight on October 5th, bleary-eyed and feeling the ill effects of the wedding the night before. After almost 24 hours of travel (thank god we sprang for the bulkhead seats), we arrived at our first destination, the island of Phuket.

Intent on relaxing for the first part of our trip, we booked a room at a hotel and spa right on the beach, private infinity pool included. The first order of business was a long, much needed massage, during which we both fell asleep. Despite the less than ideal weather due to the Southeast Asian haze, we spent the majority of our time relaxing by our pool, on the beach, and even found time for an overnight trip to the Phi Phi Islands.
