Dana and I met years ago when we were both working at a hedge fund to pay the bills. Like me, Dana left to pursue more creative and less soul-sucking opportunities. Somewhere along the way, she met this really awesome guy Joel and they truly are the perfect blend of two people. So when Dana asked me to shoot her sweet, rustic wedding in Rochester, NY, I obviously obliged.
It was a very beautiful, warm, but not-too-hot June Saturday at Lawnell Farms. As we pulled up in the vintage school buses, I knew that the setting was going to make for some very pretty pictures. I was in awe of the casual simplicity and elegance of the day. Guests were greeted with cocktails and lawn games while awaiting the start of the ceremony. As the processional began, a single guitar player strummed sweet love songs against the backdrop of Rochester farmland. It was lovely, emotional, and real.
After the ceremony, we all wanted to check out Dana and Joel's renovated 1973 Airstream! Their honeymoon was taking this bad-boy all over the western United States for the better part of 4 months. You can follow their trip in their blog.
Congratulations Dana & Joel. We all know you will have a wonderful life together!
