We just love photographing an Arts Ballroom wedding. It’s elegance and style make for a lot of wonderful photos, especially for any couple looking for the downtown ballroom vibe.

On this day, Roxy chose to get ready in the Arts Ballroom bridal suite, and David at the Sofitel. Since they opted to forgo a bridal party, each got ready with family. David and Roxy are such kind souls, it made prep photos so relaxed and fun. David, a graphic designer, wanted to ensure we got a lot of snaps of his custom designed invitations, while Roxy gushed over her dress, exclaiming it looks like “falling snow.” We may have had to tie David’s bowtie 28 times, but after it was on straight, he headed to Arts Ballroom for the ceremony. After Roxy’s sister helped her get in the dress, it was time to say I do.

The Arts Ballroom is such a perfect space for a ceremony. The marble staircase gives the bride a grand entrance, and the stunning ceiling adds a lot of drama. The couple added some lovely florals as well as a lot of their own personal touches to enhance the Valentine’s theme.

When the ceremony began, Roxy ascended down the stairs and David couldn’t contain his emotion. Their Arts Ballroom wedding had finally arrived and it was very exciting. The couple’s officiant told beautiful stories about David and Roxy, before they exchanged vows, and made it official.

The best part about the Arts Ballroom is its location. Steps from Broad Street and City Hall, we snuck out during cocktail hour to get some portraits of the newlyweds. Dillworth Park was still lit up with holiday lights and city hall was as stunning as always.

After the couple’s photos concluded, we headed ballroom to photograph the details meticulously planned by David and Roxy. They made their big entrance, as the DJ played “Beyond” by Leon Bridges for their first dance. We loved that a lot family stood up to toast the newlyweds, tell funny stories and honor the couple’s relationship.

Once the dance floor opened, the guests took over Arts Ballroom with some fun moves and even some limbo. You would have never guess it was a Sunday night!

Thank you Roxy and David for allowing us to capture your Arts Ballroom wedding!
